Common questions

PookieScroll asked for Screen Time access. What's that for?

PookieScroll uses Apple's official Family Controls framework to see your screen-time totals and to apply the blocks you configure. Granting that access is required for the app to function. The reports stay on your device — see the Privacy Policy for details.

My pookie isn't updating. What gives?

iOS aggressively throttles widget and Screen Time reports. Open the app to force a refresh, and make sure Screen Time access is still granted under iOS Settings → Screen Time. If the widget is stuck, remove and re-add it.

I tapped a blocked app and saw an "On Strike" poster. How do I get back in?

Tap "Cross the line" on the poster, or open PookieScroll → Shield and remove the relevant block / limit / routine. If you used Quick Block, tap Quick Block again to release it.

How do I switch between the kraken and the ghost?

Settings → Mascot. The change applies everywhere (Overview, widget, share card, On Strike poster) immediately.

A usage limit isn't blocking the app at the cap.

iOS evaluates limits at the DeviceActivityMonitor threshold, which can take up to a few minutes to fire after the cap is reached. Confirm the limit's weekday pattern includes today, and that the target app is still selected in the limit's FamilyActivityPicker selection.

My block routine didn't trigger.

Check the routine's start/end times (overnight schedules cross midnight, so the end time is the next day), confirm today's weekday is enabled, and confirm the routine is toggled on. Routines rely on iOS's DeviceActivitySchedule — if you reboot during a routine, iOS may need a minute to reattach.

Can I change my daily goal?

Yes — Settings → Daily Screen-Time Goal. Mood thresholds (Zen / Casual / Doom / Brainrot) recalculate from the new goal immediately; the kraken or ghost may shift tier on the next refresh.

Is my data sent anywhere?

No. PookieScroll has no backend — everything runs on your device. See the Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.

I'd like to delete the app and all its data.

Delete PookieScroll from your home screen — iOS purges its local storage. Revoke Screen Time access in iOS Settings → Screen Time → App & Website Activity if you want to be tidy.

Bug report, feature request, or something else?

Email hi@pookiescroll.app with as much detail as you can — iOS version, app version, what you did, what you expected, what happened.
